Boise Spider Bite
Today’s blog post is not recommended for those with Arachnophobia (the fear of spiders). On second thought, maybe this post is best suited for those with a fear of spiders so that they’ll take preventative measures to make sure they’re not in a similar situation. Boise Spider Bite stories this severe are rare, but still a good reminder of what could happen if bitten by the wrong kind of spider.
According to a story which first appeared on KTVB.com, Dale Harsin, a resident of Boise, was moving some items out of
his storage unit and at some point while in his storage unit a spider bit him. Dale reacted to the spider bite in the same way most of us would… he ignored the pain, decided against going to see a doctor and went about his plans. Not long after the pain in his finger became unbearable he ended up seeing a doctor. Unfortunately, the infection in his finger spread and the only option was to remove his finger.
Lucky To Be Alive
Thankfully for Dale, his family and his friends at River City Coffee (read the full article for context) he only lost his finger and is still alive today. According to Britannica, here are the 9 most deadly spiders in the world, not all of them live in North America.
Symptoms of a Spider Bite in Boise
The symptoms from a bite from a nonpoisonous spider may last a few days and are usually pretty mild. Symptoms of a nonpoisonous spider bite may include: pain, swelling, redness and itching. A bite from a poisonous spider will usually include severe redness, severe swelling and severe pain. Experts recommend getting checked out by a doctor to minimize the aftermath should the spider that you were bitten by actually be poisonous.
